With the recall election for the California Governors seat fast approaching the CA Secretary of State Shirley Weber’s office has posted the tax returns of all of the 41 challengers for the coming recall election. Conveniently left off the list of published tax returns is the Governor Newsom’s tax returns.
Weber’s claim is that he is not a technically not candidate for re-election. Wow, that is really laughable. He is running in the recall ELECTION, soooo does that not make him a candidate??? Not according to Weber’s office. Also, the Secretary of State’s office is trying to leave challenger Larry Elder off the list of challengers claiming he has incomplete tax returns. Oh the hypocrisy. Elder plans on suing. Newsom’s team claims they submitted the return but the SOS’s office stated they will not be releasing them. Weber was appointed by Newsom, imagine that (insert eye roll)
This rule for candidates came about during the 2020 election trying to force then President Trump to release his tax returns. The state requires 5 year of tax returns. Of course this was tossed out by the courts in regards to Presidential Elections. Just goes to show how far Comminefornia will go to keep conservatives out of politics in the state. The level of hypocrisy that is shown by Democrats in the state or the country for that matter is amazing. It goes to show the Democrats are all about, do as I say, not as I do.
The candidates are mostly Republican a few Democrats and a few no party affiliation candidates. It was reported early on during the recall process that Queen Democrat Pelosi put word out that Democrats should not challenge Gov Newsom, effectively cutting the pool of Democrats down to people who really have zero chance of winning or putting up a reasonable fight.
Look, I am not naive enough to think that Newsom will not win. When you have the liberal Hollywood elites behind you and the United States Speaker of the House in your corner, a win is all but assured. For a state that ALWAYS seems to have financial issues and expects the rest of the country to bail them out Californians seem content with that idea, not to mention all the free money flowing to the underprivileged in a state that is one of the most expensive places to live. Newsom’s reign will continue despite the efforts of the recall attempt.
