So the publicity hungry Democrats who fled the state of TX are now suing the Governor and a few Republicans out of fear of reprisals when they return. They cite the threats/fear of arrest once they return and even tried to throw the common Democratic response of racism as the reasons for the suit.
My amazement to what lengths the Democrats will go never ends. These publicity hounds flee from their elected duties on a private jet, live it up with some beer and take selfies of their heroic journey. All the while they are still being paid by the taxpayers of Texas for NOT doing their job. In almost every other job in America, what they have done would be considered job abandonment and they would have lost their jobs. Maybe that is something states should consider with new legislation. If you abandon you elected duties in the manner in which these folks did, you loose your job and benefits and the Governor can appoint new officials until the next election cycle.
The reason for this lawsuit is utterly ridiculous. They cite, fear of arrest when they return and the real winner of a reason is….you guessed it, racism. You can always count on a Democrat to use the baseless racism card. I seem to recall most of the fleeing Democrats were white. Also cited is the 22 cowards have been “deprived of liberty for substantial periods of times, suffered much anxiety and distress over separation from their families, and much discomfort and embarrassment”. Wow they actually have the balls to make that claim, YOU were the ones who CHOSE to FLEE. Now that you may regret your CHOICE, OWN IT AND DEAL WITH THE CONSEQUENCES!!!!
Gov Abbott did say last month when they fled, “Once they step back into the state they will be arrested and brought back to the Capitol and we will be conducting business”. To make matters even more head smacking, 2 of these freedom fighters took off for Portugal for a trip with their partners. If they really believed in what they were doing, why leave the country instead of working on what they believe in.
Gov Abbott also stated they will not get out of voting for the new voter protections, “We have special sessions that last 30 days,” Abbott stated. “And the governor calls them, and I will continue calling special session after special session because over time it is going to continue until they step up to vote”. I really do not think these fools really thought anything through when they pulled this stunt to flee from their elected duties. There was never going to be a win for them concerning this. Publicity stunt is all this will be remembered for.
I for one hope during the 2022 election cycle the constituents of these Democrats wake up and vote them out. I am not even saying vote them out for a Republican (although that would be ideal), just get rid of them and find someone who will play by the rules and actually do something good for the people of Texas. With all the issues that TX is facing right now, especially with illegal immigration, it is time for this disastrous stunt to end.
