Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson attacked from all sides on social media and in the press. After Fox Chairman Rupert Murdoch testified in the Dominion civil suit, it was revealed that Carlson was pushing 2020 election claims he knew to be false. He is also taking a lot of heat for releasing January 6 footage that Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy provided him.
False claims
In private text messages, Carlson expressed his concern about the allegations against Dominion and stated they were “absurd.” The following night he went on air to push the false claims. Tucker even wrote to Sean Hannity about getting Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott dismissed.
“We don’t know how many votes were stolen on Tuesday night. We don’t know anything about the software that many say was rigged. We don’t know. We ought to find out,” he said. “But here’s what we do know. On a larger level, at the highest levels, actually, our system isn’t what we thought it was. It’s not as fair as it should be. Not even close.”
Carlson quote from on air broadcast after 2020 election results.
“Do the executives understand how much credibility and trust we’ve lost with our audience?” he texted his producer. “We’re playing with fire, for real … an alternative like Newsmax could be devastating to us.”
Carlon’s message to unamed producer
“Please get her fired,” Carlson texted Hannity and Ingraham. “Seriously … What the fuck? I’m actually shocked. It needs to stop immediately, like tonight. It’s measurably hurting the company. The stock price is down. Not a joke.”

Why keep going?
I have to wonder about the mindset of continuing to make these claims if you genuinely believe them to be false. Is it to keep controversy in the news in the name of ratings? Let’s face it; controversy brings in viewers, which leads to advertising dollars, and more money for the network. Is he receiving pressure from the suits to keep going for those dollars? When do you stop and stand up for what you believe? Will he suffer in the long run, or is there some grand plan he has for himself? I am just having trouble understanding it.
January 6 footage
Now he is taking heat for airing released January 6 footage of the chaos at the Capitol. He shows how protestors are calmly walking around inside the House of Representatives, even sometimes being escorted by Capitol Police. You can see them even opening doors and giving directions on where to go. He releases new footage each night, which causes social media to explode each time, trying to counter his message.
Yes, some actors in the crowd did get physical and violent. We have seen the footage. However, to label the whole event as an insurrection or attempt to overthrow the government is far-reaching. If this were indeed an insurrection, it would have turned out much differently.
Everyone does it
As news organizations go, they will continue to push false claims. The only difference here is that it came to light what Fox News and its anchors did. The other news networks and anchors do this all the time; they just do not get called out for it or drown out their bullshit with other news. Basically, it’s Look over here; nothing to see there.
Personally, I hope he keeps going if his conscience is clear. If it is all about keeping those viewers and making a buck then keep going, Tucker. He is not the only one to do it, he just “got caught”.
