The movie Civil War is set to hit theaters on April 12. It looks like it could have some good action. I am very interested to see how a civil war has California and Texas sided together. I mean, you cannot get much more opposite than these two states.
The trailers show what appears to be a civil war that has already broken out. It will be interesting to see if they show or explain how it began. I am sure there will be plenty of right-wing ultra-nationalist references to it. After all, we are talking about liberal Hollywood here. Right out of the gate, I can see a left-leaning influence to it. There is talk in the trailers of reporters being shot on-site. Many people will say that is the far right way of thinking. Although I guess it is not that far fetched. Many Americans do not trust reporters, journalists, etc, at all since they tend to learn far left and vilify anyone with conservative thoughts. I want to see how they got the military to take sides.
Yes, I like origin stories; what led to this or that? For those who believe and listen to conspiracy theories, I am sure that civil war chatter will increase. Since we are in an election year, many fear that such a thing could happen regardless of who the victor is for the 2024 election cycle. I think a real civil war here in America would be beyond chaotic with no defined sides. It will most likely be everyone for themselves.
Of course, let’s pray that NEVER happens. As for this movie, will I see it in the theaters, I am not sure. Considering how expensive going to the movies is, I am a little picky about what movies I will spend money on. I hope this doesn’t spiral into a lopsided, poorly-acted political theater for the masses. Just show me a good movie, something that has been lacking for years.
