The Taliban is now better equipped with U.S. weapons and armored vehicles. In the hast to pull out of Afghanistan the U.S. military left behind billions of dollars worth of equipment. News outlets are showing the Taliban with the newly acquired weapons.
The Taliban stated that they would forgive those who worked with NATO. Evidence to the contrary is popping up with pictures of executed people in the streets. It does not take a PhD to know that these weapons will be used to suppress the population. I would like to know what was left behind that we do not know about. News reports about a biometric database left behind has many concerned. This would give the Taliban a large amount of data on who worked with NATO during the 20yr war. The failure to destroy or erase this database put countless lives at risk.
Again the Taliban is now better equipped with U.S. weapons to assist with training new terrorists groups to cause havoc around the world. Sources from news outlets state that this could come as soon as 6 months. It’s scary that the Biden Administration may have undone 20yrs of blood, sweat and tears in such a short time. Not to mention the betrayal and humiliation the American population feels. Afghan War Veterans are feeling betrayed as well. All this is continuing to unfold as the U.S. military is scrambling to evacuate remaining Americans and Afghan allies.
Uncertain Future
Time will tell how this will all play out on the world stage. With China and Russia ready to accept the Taliban as the legitimate governing body of Afghanistan, it will be a scary time for several months. I hope those who assisted the United States and our Allies are able to get out before mass rounds ups and executions begin.
