Marjorie Taylor Greene calls for national divorce. GA Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene created quite a stir with her comments on Twitter that we need a national divorce. As one would expect, it created a firestorm on Twitter and in the press.
Her comments
Her comments on Twitter and interviews have made heads explode. Reactions to her comments range from calling her a traitor to others wanting a divorce to happen. Rep Greene suggested that the country separate into Blue states and the Red States. In an interview with Fox News, she explains why she made the national divorce statement. Regardless of which side you are on, it makes one think.
Some Americans like the idea of a national divorce
According to Daily Mail, 34% of citizens polled (1,000 people polled by Rasmussen Reports )like what Rep Greene is proposing. That number is a bit higher than I would have thought. It shows the divide that is occurring in the country today. How have we come to this point? Are the days of spirited debate gone? The last thing I want to see is this great country collapse, or even worse have a civil war breakout. The thought is terrifying since nothing good will come from something like that. We need to get back to being the UNITED States of America. People will always disagree but it seems even the most trivial topics cause such a stir that no one wants to be civil. I do not agree with Marjorie Taylor Greene’s calls for national divorce, but are we headed in that direction, I hope not. America is a great country. We need to get back to being the UNITED States of America.
Thoughts?
I think the idea of splitting the country up into Red/Blue states is a terrible idea. Consider all the companies that operate in the country. Where would they go? Think of the panic it would cause. I can see the economy collapsing, stock markets will free fall in a panic. Neighbor will turn on neighbor, and no good will come out of it.
