Afghan police chief executed by Taliban after he surrenders. Haji Mullah Achakzai, head of the police in Badghis province near Herat appears in a video in which he is executed by the Taliban. Tweet showing the execution is below.(CAUTION: IT IS GRAPHIC)
Contrary to what the terrorists of the Taliban have stated, they are hunting down and summarily executing officials from the previous government. Reports are emerging of Taliban reprisals against local govt. officials and Afghans who worked with NATO forces throughout the 20yr war. These reports are coming in all around the country. NGOs (Non Government Organizations) are closing their safe houses claiming they are death traps for those they are trying to shelter and protect. The world watches as atrocities begin to unfold in Afghanistan, AGAIN. In the minds of the Afghan people we have abandoned them.
United States’ credibility is gone.
The utter failure of the Biden Administration to protect and evacuate those who helped us will resinate for decades. What happens when/if we have to assist another country in the world with troops? Our credibility is gone and we should expect no assistance from local populations or our allies. President Biden has permanently damaged America’s reputation around the world. In my opinion we as a nation can no longer insert ourselves to future conflicts. I do not think anyone would want to work with us anymore.
President Biden had planned on traveling to Delaware this weekend but cancelled his trip. The White House states that President Biden will deliver remarks on Afghanistan today. Sorry, but he can say nothing that will help the people of Afghanistan or deflect from his abysmal foreign policy failure.
It is being reported that President Biden did not take advice from his National Security Council or the military leaders on the withdrawal. If this is the case, Biden needs to stop with the blame game, take responsibility along with VP Harris. VP Harris touted her role in the U.S. pullout but now is very quiet. The VP has flown (hiding) in Asia. One stop is ironically Vietnam. The Afghan withdrawal is being compared to the Saigon, Vietnam withdrawal.
I hope our failure to protect those who assisted us and young Afghans know that the American people are on their side in disgust with how our government has abandoned them. I pray we have not created 100s of thousands of new terrorists after the way we have abandoned them with little to no bright future ahead of them.
