Should George Santos resign

George Santos, should he resign? New Yorkers and Politicians alike are calling for newly elected George Santos to resign for a myriad reasons.

There quite a bit of stories/claims that have been proven untrue.

List of false stories/claims

George Santos
Rep George Santos, (R-NY)
  • Where he went to high school, Horace Mann School is the claim. School never heard of him
  • degree in economics and finance from Baruch College in 2010, college has no record of him ever attending
  • Claimed he was targeted for assassination. Could not provide 1 police report to back claim
  • Mother was in the South Tower 9/11.  “passed away a few years later when she lost her battle to cancer.” Information was found she was in Brazil on 9/11 applied for a visa in 2003 which stated she had not been to the U.S. since 1999.
  • Lost 4 employees in the Pulse nightclub shootings in 2016, the New York Times found out that his claims were false
  • Worked at Goldman Sachs and Citigroup, but representatives for both companies told the Times they had no record of his employment.

This guy apparently has a LOT of issues with telling the truth and who he is. I know some will say that is a typical DC Politician, but he just got caught. Some other “lies” and behavior is just to bizarre to write about, at least for me. Some Republicans are calling for him to resign his position. On Tuesday, Rep. Santos stepped down from his committee assignment amid this mess he has created.

“I want to personally thank Speaker McCarthy for meeting with me to discuss the matter and allowing me to take time to properly clear my name before returning to my committees,” “To my constituents, I remain committed to serving the district, and delivering results for both New York’s Third Congressional District and for the American people.”

Should he go

Judging by his behavior, in my opinion this guy may have some mental issues or is just a pathological liar. Either way it is probably the best thing for him to step down or admit he has issues then get help, although stepping down is the best and least likely option to happen.
