Biden turns around on crime? Why the sudden 180-degree change? Is crime so bad that he cannot ignore it anymore? Democrats were leading the charge for police reform, defunding the police. Many significant cities did just that. Liberal District Attorneys and Mayor started to turn the other cheek to crime.
Rising Crime
Rising crime across the country is spiraling out of control—murder rates are climbing at breakneck speed. What most consider low-level offenses, such as shoplifting, burglary, and robbery, are rising even faster. I still remember when hoards of criminals would, without fear, raid department stores in mass, stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise. I remember when it was considered racist to be in fear of the rising crime rates. People are just getting plain sick of it.
Is Biden planning ahead
We all know that crime was a big talking point for Republicans for the 2022 Mid-Term Elections. The “Red Wave” everyone expected did not happen. Yes, Republicans retook the House of Representatives but did not make a dent in the Senate. I think that this turnaround on crime by the President is what I will call “prepping the battlefield” for the 2024 elections.
If President Biden can get enough Liberal Mayors, District Attorneys, and Judges to get on board the Republicans will not have their main talking point for the upcoming 2024 elections. Honestly, if this is the plan, it’s genius.
One might think that this policy shift would ruffle some feathers, and it might but not as much as one would think. All the ones that really want to keep up their “progressive” approach towards crime have to do is, play it a little tougher for a bit win 2024, then it’s back to business as usual. See genius, or far-fetched?
