The GOP is just really messing up. After 3 failed votes to elect the Speaker of the House Republicans are showing they are close to being a hot mess like the Democrat (in a different way of course). Not since 1923 has the House not elected a Speaker on the first vote.
At first everyone thought Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) would be a sure bet to get elected but that is not the case. For the first vote, 19 Republicans broke ranks and voted for Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH). After 3 votes, Jordan received 20 votes. What a spectacle it has become. Democrats on the other hand unanimously voted for Rep. Hkeem Jeffries (D-NY).
Not that I am in favor by any means of Democrats retaining the Speaker position, at least they have their act together when it comes to this. You know they are having a field day watching this train wreck happen. They even had the balls to chant “Hakeem” while Republicans had their head up their asses. Sorry but that is how I see it.
I am starting to hear circus music as this all unfolds. How are the American people going to trust (not that they do much now) Republicans to get anything accomplished when they cannot even get this simple task down. Take a look at this clip from Politico of the hot mess of the vote.
Her I thought and hoped 2023 would be much better that Republicans had a some teeth finally. Guess I was wrong. I really hope they get it together or in 2 years they will loose the House….again. Ok I need more coffee.
