Well it’s officially 2023 and I have to say thank God it’s over. This year we have seen nothing but war, mortgage rates rising and the price of EVERYTHING go up. Crime is out of control So here’s hoping 2023 is better than 2022.
I cannot/ do not want to think that 2023 can be any worse than last year. Then again with you know who is still in the White House and Democrats still control the Senate it would not surprise me one bit. The failure of the Midterm Election Red Wave which many had predicted did not happen. It was more of a small Red Wave. Republicans did gain control of the House of Representatives but failed to secure the Senate and even lost a few seats.
The past year was nothing but a train wreck. President Biden has sent Over $40 Billion to the Ukraine, the border crisis has only gotten worse which has cost untold billions. Afghan refugees that were brought here left the housing they were provided in shambles which the American taxpayer will have to flip the bill to the tune of roughly $260 million.
A few highlights or low lights of 2022
Gas Prices
The current administration has gone to extraordinary lengths to claim victory when it comes to declining gas prices but did not take responsibility for the rise. At one point President Biden said “we can’t do much“. So how can he take credit for the slight decline over the last year. I thought it was Putin that caused the price hike, so shouldn’t Putin get the credit for the decline?
Inflation
Inflation was/is at a 40 year high. Of course that is not the fault of the Democrats (sarcasm) and their unprecedented spending on their liberal agenda. The cost over everything is out of control. I just spent $6 for a dozen eggs, it’s ridiculous. I walk out of the grocery store spending $60 and I am only carrying 2 bags of what I thought is not expensive items. Guess I was wrong.
Mid Term Elections
The Mid Term Elections turned out to be anti climatic for the Republicans. Not nearly the big win they were hoping for and everyone predicted. There was record turnout for the elections which shot a big hole in the liberal media and Democratic narrative of voter suppression. News anchors and Liberal Democrats would ignore or change the subject when pressed about “voter suppression” after the Midterms.
Hoping 2023 is better than 2022!!!
I could go on a lot more but my head hurts just thinking about how bad 2022 was. I really hope 2023 will be a better year. Not going to hope for a great 2023 as I really do not see that happening. Everyone keep your heads high and drive on.
