Elon Musk buys Twitter

Elon Musk buys Twitter

Elon Musk Buys Twitter, the cash deal at $54.20 per share is valued at around $44 billion. Right off the bat conservatives celebrated as they believe the return to free speech was afoot at Twitter. On the other hand liberals were in agony.

Many people are rejoicing over the fact the Musk has purchased Twitter. What I am most surprised about is that Twitter actually went through with the sale. Deep down I thought the Twitter execs enjoyed the power that came along with owning what is called the “Town Hall” of the web. The deal still needs to be approved by Twitter shareholders but no one sees a problem getting that done.

Trump Return?

Conservatives across the web were rejoicing when the news was announced. Many, and I mean MANY were hoping for the return of Former President Donald Trump. Trump was banned from the social media platform after the Jan 6, 2021 riots at the Capitol. Honestly I was hoping to see Trump back on there as well. Mostly because I saw how the platform obviously was censoring or outright banning conservatives much to the left’s delight. Now Trump is saying he will be staying off Twitter and just using his newly launched Truth Social platform. Of course this will come as a disappointment for many I imagine.

Conservatives rejoice

Many people believe conservative voices will be restored to bring balance to the Twitter platform. I see many posts of people who ask “Can you see this Tweet, please like or reply if you do.” There is no doubt in my mind that Twitter was “shadow banning” accounts. Being a simpleton when it comes to some of these platforms like Twitter, I sometimes think I was being shadow banned. For instance, I have roughly 2100 followers. Looking at the analytics for each Tweet it shows only a few dozen have seen it. Seems a little strange my tweets did not reach a larger audience. Now I am not saying ALL my followers should have seen all my tweets but it’s just a little odd that only a extremely small fraction have, according to the analytics for each tweet.

Time will tell if things will change and Elon Musk makes Twitter a level playing field.

Liberals Cry Foul

Liberals are not happy at all about Musk’s acquisition of Twitter. They feel Twitter will become a hate filled social media platform. They have enjoyed years of posting whatever they want unchecked. Many Twitter employees are talking about quitting and Liberals are “threatening to leave the platform. How many of the Tesla driving Twitter employees will actually quit. The hypocrisy of liberals really never ceases to amaze me. My feeling is they talk a big game but when it’s time to put up, the scamper away to a safe space and have no memory of their veiled threats to follow through with quitting.

It’s amazing how much they are scared. I guess when you Tweet unchecked for so long without repercussions it would be scary. One high profile account that I came across stated he was leaving Twitter. Only to return less than 24hrs later. Claiming the account was never deleted then saying he was threatened by “White Supremacist”. It really was a bit laughable. The comments were a relentless. Screenshots showing that the account did not exist are my favorite. Not going to name the little snowflake though. Of course my favorite meltdown skit is a short video parody clip showing the reaction from Twitter employees freaking out over the takeover.

How will this effect 2022 Midterm Elections

Many believe Twitter and other social media platforms were instrumental in swaying the 2020 Presidential election. Any negative stories/articles concerning President Biden were taken down almost immediately as the outlets claim they were false or disinformation. Interesting that these supposed “false” stories are now being proven as true and accurate. I am really interested to see what will become of the platform in the future. Will this effect the MidTerm Elections come November. Guess we will wait and see what happens in the coming months.

Time for coffee, bye!
