Well Congressional staffers get a nice pay raise from outgoing Speaker of the house Nancy Pelosi. Now the staff of Congressmen and Congresswomen can make more that their bosses. This seems a little ridiculous to me. How can the elected officials be on board with this. The American public already had very little trust in the government and feels they spend WAAAAYYYYY to much money.
With the American taxpayer on the hook for the largest Government budget in history (Omnibus Bill), does adding to this really help us??? I guess when you are planning on leaving it really does not matter what you do, if people bitch and complain who cares is the mentality. Honestly I cannot wait till she leaves. Pelosi has been one of worst Congressional Speakers that I can remember. I still have the image of her tearing up then President Trump’s speech after the State of the Union address. How classless can you get.
To be fair I do think that Congressional staffers should have a starting salary which she did put in place at $45K earlier this year. Let’s be honest, living in DC is expensive and the staff does need to the ability to live without going on food stamps, you know like some members of the Armed services but that is a topic for another day.
